The skin is one of the most common sites for injury and disease and for this reason you should pay close attention to your dog’s skin and coat condition. The skin’s main function is to protect the body against invading bacteria, toxins, and poisons as well as to help prevent injury, regulate body temperature, and keep body fluids at appropriate levels. There are many causes of skin disease, so be sure to keep a close eye out for any changes from normal.
