Just a Real Friendly Reminder. Watch Out For Your Shepherd Tomorrow Night

If you want to get a German Shepherd, or you already have one and need some help to get the best out of this beautiful creature…try the German Shepherd Handbook.
Another warning and plea from me, a dog lover. If you have a dog please make sure that:
- if you have a party, don’t allow your guests the liberty to feed your dog, either food or drinks. Some people do not think, truly! Alcohol, grapes, raisins, confetti, these are all poisons for your dog.
- remember, your dog relies on you to protect him. Be a good alpha dog and look out for your pack.
- give your dog a quite place to hide when the party gets too long and loud.
- look out for him, make sure he is ok. Don’t let the party totally distract you from your obligations to your canine companion.
I know I wrote this already, but, sometimes 2 reminders is better than 1.
Happy New Year to you all. I truly wish you all the best, all the joy you can contain, and all the strength to carry what comes.
Be good to each other, and to your canine companions.
Let’s make it a great 2010!!!

Dog Training – Dealing With Jumping
Filed Under German Shepherd Handbook, Obedience Training | Leave a Comment
Check out the German SHepherd Handbook today!! It’s the manual specific for …the German Shepherd.
Most dogs will display a tendency to jump on people at times. How often will vary with breed and by individual. One theory suggests that dogs are trying to get close to the person’s face – not to attack, but to interact. Other dogs, especially of the same breed, have faces close to their level and the dog will use its nose and eyes to explore.

If you own, or if you want to own a German Shepherd you really must at minimum teach your dog the 5 basic rules/commands. The main object of basic German Shepherd obedience training is in getting your dog or puppy to understand and obey the 5 basic dog obedience training commands. These commands are Sit, Stay, Heel, Come, and Down.
Think about it, we can tell and actually explain to kids what we want. But, we can’t tell and explain anything to a dog. So, we have to learn HOW to teach our dogs what we want from them.
And, absolutely we have to teach them the 5 basic commands. It’s not that hard to do. It takes a little time, effort, consistency, patience, persistence…and The German Shepherd Handbook!
