If you own, or if you want to own a German Shepherd you really must at minimum teach your dog the 5 basic rules/commands.  The main object of basic German Shepherd obedience training is in getting your dog or puppy to understand and obey the 5 basic dog obedience training commands.  These commands are Sit, Stay, Heel, Come, and Down.

Think about it, we can tell and actually explain to kids what we want.  But, we can’t tell and explain anything to a dog.  So, we have to learn HOW to teach our dogs what we want from them.

And, absolutely we have to teach them the 5 basic commands.  It’s not that hard to do.  It takes a little time, effort, consistency, patience, persistence…and The German Shepherd Handbook!
